What is Interceptor?

Interceptor^® is indicated for use in the prevention of heartworm disease, the control of adult hookworm, and the removal and control of adult roundworm and whipworm infection in dogs and in puppies four weeks of age or greater and two pounds body weight or greater. Interceptor for Cats is indicated for use in the prevention of heartworm disease, and the removal of adult hookworm and roundworm in cats and kittens six weeks of age or greater and 1.5 lbs. body weight or greater. Interceptor requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

For:

Dogs (4 weeks of age and weighing over 2 lbs)
Cats (6 weeks of age and weighing over 1.5 lbs)

Cautions:

Don't give your pet Interceptor if you are already administering another heartworm preventative. Tell your veterinarian if your pet has ever had an allergic reaction to Interceptor or milbemycin. Do not remove the tablet from its wrapper until ready to give the medicine. Keep this medication away from children and pets. Interceptor is safe for pregnant or lactating pets at a normal dose level.

What happens if I miss giving a dose:

Give the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, do not give a double dose of the medication.

What are the possible side effects of Interceptor:

Contact your veterinarian if any of these side effects develop. Although the side effects are rare but some might exhibit depression/lethargy, vomiting, ataxia, anorexia, diarrhea, convulsions, weakness and hypersalivation.

Storage:

Should be stored at room temperature between 59° and 77° F.
